Nature lovers and recreationalists won’t be disappointed with the options available only a short drive away.
The Stevens Point area is in the middle of Wisconsin and in the midst of fun. Outdoor activities such as swimming, boating and fishing are plentiful with numerous small lakes and rivers as well as the bigger (6,830 acres) Lake DuBay, a hotbed for walleyes, northern pike, muskies and bass. On land, there are plenty of great trails, like 30.5–mile Green Circle Trail, many of which connect, making getting from one to another easy. In the winter there’s plenty of skiing and snowboarding and, in nicer weather, places to golf. For those who prefer indoor fun, there are theaters, malls, farmer’s markets, local breweries, and plenty of diverse dining options. The local art scene is inspired by the natural beauty of the area, and there are numerous galleries, as well as the Stevens Point Sculpture Park and the Art Village.
